Able to withstand the ultimate test!
I am not typically someone who uses paper plates for a variety of reasons, the primary being that I have no desire to irritate my guests by providing substandard dining ware. When my husband and I do casual entertaining, we often make somewhat messy meals - ribs, brisket, or hot wings - that would overwhelm the average paper plate. The end result is that we end up spending hours after the party soaking BBQ crusted plates and scrubbing away the stains. Now Chinet has a good reputation, and I have experienced using them at other parties, but have been reluctant to try them out at home. I can tell you that these managed to stand up to what I consider the ultimate test - the guys on wing night. My husband and several of his friends used these plates for a casual meal consisting of hot wings with various dipping sauces, slaw, potato salad, and baked beans. Simply no equal in paper plates
I've been using these Chinet dinner plates for quick meals for years. They're sturdy enough for a burger and fries, stand up to microwaving leftover lasagna, and won't soak through with a salad no matter the dressing. These plates will even handle light knifing without issue (but of course, don't try sawing through a thick steak with a steak knife). I have my "good" dishes, my "every day" dishes, and I always keep these handy as well.
They're made from 100% recycled material and are equally environmental on the back end. They come in packages of 15, 32, and 100, so you can get as few or as many as needed. For large parties, you can also get smaller lunch/salad/dessert plates as well as bowls, and still have the same peace of mind that these products will stand up to whatever you are serving. Can't recommend Chinet Classic White products enough!
Not for Everything
These plates are a nice size and are sturdy. They are very handy for some meals, such as sandwiches, muffins, chicken pieces etc. They do soak up some liquid although they don't leak through easily. I wouldn't use them for things where you want liquid to stay on the plate.
