glass bowls
these bowls are fantastic. very pretty and they stack nicely for easy storage. can safely microwave in them too. I did since find them at Bed Bath & Beyond for less than half the price listed at Target though. I asked for a price match and Target declined. I kept them anyway because with shipping it was cheaper to keep them. Just do price checks before ordering from Target!

Great lead-free plate/bowls
We bought these to use in the place of the small desert plates, which are all tainted with toxic lead. We had been using corelle & then found out that they were also toxic with lead--clear tempered glass seemed to be the only alternative. We prefer to use the smaller plates so these bowls are big enough for us. We also like the European style instead of the flat ones where everything slides off the plate. They arrived all intact with none chipped or broken & are very nice looking dishes.
Not as advertised
I purchased these soup plates to replace four clear glass soup bowls I have which are 9 inches in diameter. I just received the shipment of the 12 soup plates which are slightly less than 7 inches in diameter. They were advertised as being 8 inches. I'll probably keep them even though I would have preferred a slightly larger bowl for soup. The seller should offer a more accurate description of the product, including the outside dimensions and capacity.

Quality and built to last
This is a beautiful machine! I started learning about brewing espresso at home with a Gaggia Coffee. I've since stepped up to the Silvia and I wish I had bought it right away. The espresso I produce with it is far superior, never sour or bitter if I use the right amount and tamp it properly, and I can make microfoam. I also appreciate its heaviness, good looks, quiet operation and metal steam wand.

Many say - and it bears repeating - that you will only get the results you are looking for at home if you invest in a burr grinder of at least Rancilio Rocky or Gaggia MDF quality, grind right before brewing and use beans roasted within weeks, not months! I have had disappointing results with other grinders and all preground espresso including expensive Illy, etc.

Shop around and be sure to get free shipping, because this thing weighs a ton. I have seen good package deals where you can get the Silvia and Rocky together; with no tax and free shipping plus some free...

Fussy and finicky even at experienced hands; far more expensive than it seems. Here's why:
If you are anything like myself, you too have probably seen the many reviews and warning online citing how finicky the Rancilio Silvia is with its wild temperature swings and its taste for exact grinds. Like myself, you too are not bothered by any of that and are still considering the Silvia.

So in all fairness, there are plenty of GREAT things about this machine; It is good-looking (but design-wise it fails to make any statement, it is neither modern nor retro, doesn't look commercial but also doesn't look like a home machine). Great construction too (though slightly crude). It has features galore; brass boiler and brew group, large tank, ample steaming pressure etc. It is famously reliable and been made with little change for over a decade. On paper it seems to have it all, and it is the only machine of its class at this price point. The question is however, "can it pull a decent shot of espresso?" The short answer for it is, yes, it certainly can - but not straight out...
A "real" espresso maker for the home!
This machine is the perfect blend of quality, durability, and ease of repair for a home machine under $500. It makes espresso that rivals any you can buy at a coffee house.

I've been making home espresso for 25 years and have used many different machines of various prices which all died. I bought one for $250 from Starbucks which died in one year. They told me parts were not available. This machine is practically bullet-proof. I've had it for over 5 years and it is still running like new. Sure it hurts to spend this much on an espresso machine, but how many $250 machines will you go through? Learn from my mistake(s) and get a good one.

All the parts inside are commercial or semi-commercial grade. Anyone who works on commercial espresso machines can work on this one, and the parts are readily available. It's all stainless and cast iron. Very nice.

Guess hoot's coming for dinner? Ok, that was bad...
It seems like all holiday themed dishes are tacky, and not the kind of thing you really want to have displayed in your home, even if it is just for a few hours. Leave it to Rachael Ray to add some style to the holiday dishes, with a design that's simple and attractive. Not only is this set made extremely well, but the owl/Christmas tree theme looks fantastic- good enough to use for the remainder of winter, not just until Christmas. And hey, for those who stick with one set of dishes all year-round, you could do a lot worse than this.

Large plates, deep bowls, 11 ounce cups, everything here is made to be used and not wasted. Each piece is dishwasher safe, and we haven't had any issues with the design fading or peeling. This is the third dinnerware set by Rachael Ray that I've owned now, and I'm starting to look forward to new designs from the line. Now if only they'd make some plates with images of Rachael printed on them...

Winter Dinnerware
I say Winter because these will me hard to put away after Christmas. The pattern is perfect. My complaint about the regular Little Hoot dinnerware was that the pattern was too busy on the salad plates. The quality is excellent. You really can't go wrong with Rachael Ray products. They wash up beautifully and are the perfect size. I will probably be adding another set.
"Cute" holiday dinnerware set
My lovely Mrs., Wife 2.0, looked at me like I must be a little crazy for getting this set of dinnerware, but when the opportunity to get these came up, I felt moved a little by the season and thought that she'd enjoy these as a nice set of dishes to help make the season a bit more festive. In just looking at the pictures/box, she wasn't necessarily all that impressed, though when I asked her youngest, a teenage female, what she thought of this set the word "cute" was used without hesitation. I think there was also an "adorable" in her response.

My concerns revolved more around questions of whether or not these dishes are dishwasher safe (they are), and whether or not they are microwave safe as well (yes, they are also microwave safe). As long as those conditions are met, I can give my blessing to having these and using them in the house. It's not that wife 2.0 or I can't or won't wash dishes by hand (we have several pots and pans that are best washed by hand, along with...

Great Dish Set
I bought these along with the Green and Yellow ones for my Wife for Christmas and she LOVES them! They are solid, and a little heavy, but don't seem clunky, and haven't broken yet or chipped after about 7 months of using them.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I originally purchased only one set of berry blue and one of kiwi green--because I wanted to see how I liked them. The color is wonderful and bold--and the white makes them look very fresh. I ordered one more set of each!
Almost perfect.
I bought a set of the Berry Berry and a set of the Kiwi dishes. They are beautiful dishes, they look lovely on the table and in the cupboard. They have, however, chipped much easier than I was expecting. My son dropped a bowl on to our not very hard linoleum floor and it shattered and several bowls and plates have come out of the dishwasher with significant chips. I'm trying to teach my husband to be more careful with the dishes. He grew up with a mother that just used plastic picnic plates for everyday. I was just hoping that Oneida would have put out a tougher product. Mine also came with several minor defects in the finish.

AMAZING!
I bought the blue cups and cereal bowls and we LOVE them!

The bowls are nicely sized and have a little "grabbing lip" on one side, that's perfect for holding when pulling something hot out of the microwave, or when feeding a baby from the bowl. We use them for everything from cereal to soup!

The best part is that they're very sturdy and well designed, not your average cheap/flimsy plastic bowl!
Perfect!
I wanted something non-breakable for breakfast cereal, and ultimately decided to try these out. After over 6 months of use and running through the dishwasher, they still look in perfect, new condition - exactly the same as when we received them. Not a single scratch, not a single one has broken or been damaged - and this is from a family with three very young children.

I will be buying more in the future as our family expands. They'd make great gifts, too! Seriously!
